Feasibility study approved for Vietnam small-scale LNG plant
Russian gas giant Gazprom and Vietnam have approved a feasibility study for a pilot project aimed at building a Vietnam-based small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant.
LNG plant produced at the small-scale facility would be used as fuel for vehicles.
The project operator is the PVGAZPROM Natural Gas for Vehicles joint venture. It involves Gazprom EP International B.V., Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo and PetroVietnam Gas.
The decision for the feasibility study was made on September 7 in Moscow following a meeting between Gazprom’s head Alexey Miller and the Vietnamese Communist Party’s General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, according to a Gazprom statement.
The signed document paves the way for the practical implementation of the small-scale LNG project, Gazprom said.
